The invincible snail

I purchased a snail from a LFS which ended up being a bed idea. It sort of looked like a conch but had a more aggressive looking sheel to it. for a while i started seeing empty turbo snail shells in the tank. I figured it was the hermits, untill i saw this snail stuck on the entrance of a turbo snails shell. I decided i needed to get rid of it but wanted the shell for my hermits. I put the snail in freshwater for 2 hours!!!!!!! figured it was dead, and stuck it back into the tank. W/i 5min it starts crawling around the tank again.

Sounds like a Florida crown conch. Those guys can go for days with no water at all. If you saw where they live, you would understand.

I did the same thing with a snail I couldnt ID. It was eating coraline algae. Stripping rocks. So i put it in hot fresh water cup for 2 days. Tossed it into a little 16 gal sw tank for the shell and it came out. Tough little guy!
