the "jawbreaker" mushroom

i know the term "jawbreaker" is lineage specific, like the "bounce" mushroom, but of course people are now calling all orange/red/green mushrooms as such. i'm curious as to the different types of jawbreakers that are out there and what people's theories are on them.

there seem to be a lot of these coming in from vietnam lately and the latest theory is that they get their green color from green polyps that grow around them. i actually have a "jawbreaker" that does have green polyps around it. it has red color but no green yet. and of course the original jawbreaker doesn't have any other polyps around it. do you think the green really comes from the other polyps? are these just faux jawbreakers? if the green develops from the polyps, would the green go away if the polyps went away? i'd love to hear about your opinions and theories.

also, feel free to post photos of your own "jawbreakers." photos are always great to see!

You may want to post this in the Corallimorphians (mushrooms) section on here... The colors could come from a lot of things, but the term jawbreaker generally refers to those multicolor Vietnam mushrooms that certainly have been coming in a lot more lately.
