The lighter side of fragging

Reefing in NE
I thought I would share kind of a funny story; so tonight I started to work on my weekly water change and I noticed that one of my sps corals was getting really close to growing out of the water (always cool to have something grow well :) ). This has never been a very big deal, I've fragged this particular coral several times. Here is where the story goes down hill. After checking out which branches will need to be trimmed I got out my cutters and cut off two nice sized frags. I set the frags down and picked up a tube of superglue and two frag plugs. i should say that the glue was some really cheap stuff that I found on sale and the frag plugs are plastic. After picking up the plugs I noticed that the tube of glue wasn't opened yet. Once again no big deal right... Well I invert the cap to puncture the tube of glue and all the sudden close to half of the tube spills all over my hands. Now I have a real problem, my fingers are starting to stick to each other and the plugs (plastic always sticks good with super glue right). So I start to panic and decide that I "need" to get the frags in the plugs quickly. This would sound like a good plan, but while trying to get the frags in I noticed that my ring finger is making a really solid bond to the top of my pinky! :eek2: On top of that the frag plugs are starting to stick to my other fingers. Here is where I realize that this will take longer to explain then it will to have the ER unstick my fingers from each other and some frag plugs with a coral attached. Fortunately I was able to get the frags in to the tank and my fingers pulled apart with out having to make that trip. Anyway now I'm hoping that the glossy finish to my finger nails wears off before I have to go back to work.

That is just too funny!!

I had a similar experience a couple of weeks ago. I was squeezing the little tube and starting to wonder why no glue was coming out....perhaps the tube is empty??? Nope....a little pinhole had opened up on the side where the tube had been folded over.

The result was a huge mess of superglue all over two of my fingers. I was lucky enough to realize what was going on before I touched the fingers together but it was still a huge pain to clean up. Took a good 3 days before I has picked all of the hardened skin off of my fingers,

Cant learn if you dont do. Set a work area up with all tools needed and towels and no interuptions like pets and children. Then use a container to transfer from tank to work area. Frag would be fine in container an easy 15 min or more and whene done youll feel like a pro.

LOL, then unstick fingers with gasoline or paint thinner. This doesn't work well for unsticking the frag though.

I could see the frag getting stuck to your hand....and you waiting with your hand in the tank until the spouse came and noticed you..."well you wouldnt expect me to kill the frag, would you !!!":p
