The Nautilus 140

Hi all,
Starting a new build that will be a custom 140g.

The aquarium is 48x26x26 all starphire glass except the bottom. Euro braced and non reef ready (more on that to come). Diamond edging on some edges (more on that to come)

An aquarium was started 5 weeks ago and was delivered a week ago. It was way under the quality I was expecting from the company so I rejected it and gave the company another chance to build it.

Fast forward to today. The new aquarium has been delivered and accepted. Still not the best quality, but I can deal with it imperfections. And my track record with aquariums is they last 6-8 months until I decide I want to go bigger.

I'll post some pictures as it sits in the garage.

Cheers and I look forward to the advice of others.

Just purchased the AquaMaxx ConeS Q-2 In-Sump Protein Skimmer from Marine Depot. I do all my shopping from them because they have great customer service and great shipping prices when your under the amount it takes to get free shipping.

Did you take advantage of their 10% off laborday sale on aquamaxx products? lol I did as well and ordered a media reactor.

I did, there were other items I needed but did not buy them today. I have a feeling that this build is going to go slow.

Next I need to make up my mind about lights. I was thinking 2-3 hydra 52's and some T5 towards the sides to help with coverage.

But maybe there are some newer options by AI or EM to be released soon??

Ok, I've made up my mind, this aquarium will be made into a peninsula aquarium with an external bean animal setup. I'll utilize 1" drains.

After purchasing an AquaMax Q skimmer from Marine Depot I ended up returning it because it was used.

So now I am thinking of getting a Reef Octopus Elite 150 SSS. Anyone have any experience with this on.
