OK, not really. It's been asked 100 times, but I am short on time and didn't feel like searching. A simple yes or no answer from you Roger will suffice ;)

I have the opportunity to get two 6100's and a multicontroler for a reasonable price. I am just concerned it will be too much current. Here's my setup

125 gallon 18x72, DSB, a BUNCH of SPS and 9 clams on the sandbed, and it's 3 side viewable. I mention the last one because the way I was thinking of setting this up is to, well, a picture is easier. The scribbles in the center is the rock structure and the boxes are the tunze.

What do you think? will that just be TOO much flow for my application? Would I be better off going with a couple 6010 kits?

Oh, I also have about 1000gph from a return. No fancy seaswirls or anything.

Thanx Roger (or whomever has input)

OK, I got a little to into detail with the pic. Be glad I didn't draw all of my corals and clams ;)

It will likely be too much flow. I think two 6000's would be better. I would get 2 6000's and a multicontroller.

One more quick question Roger if you have the time.

Are there any benefits to a multicontroller in comparison to a single controler? If I were to get the two single controllers then my total cost would be notably less. The main difference seems to be that the multi controller has the Sequential pump circuit and the Tide simulation. For my application these two features don't seem to be to applicable. It won't create a swelling wave the way I set it up will it? Switching from on to off for a couple hours for tide would be pretty pointless too the way I set it up, because no matter which one is on it will still promote the same circular flow in the same direction. Am I right here or am I missing something?

Allright, something else to consider is that the multicontroller also includes the Photo Cell, which is handy little gadget and a $14 value. It would cost me $28 to get one for each of the single comtrollers. So I might as well spend the extra $30 or so and get the multicontroller in case I ever wanted to add more pumps.

Anyways, do I seem to have the Idea right here, or is there some other benifit to the multicontroller?

Basically, as you said it is $30 more. It is kinda like when I bought a new computer and they asked me if I wanted blue tooth and I was like what the heck is that. Anyway the guy said "it's just $30 more" so I got it and I don't even know what it is. On the multicontroller the main advantage will be you can also use tide mode. Sequence requires four pumps. With two single controllers things tend to be random and uncoordinated. With the muticontroller you can have one pump go to 100% at the exact time the other goes to 30%. You can also add more pumps if you ever get a larger tank.
