The new project.........

Slave to the reef!
Bought this thing awhile back and am just getting water in it. Its going to be a freshwater ray tank but is will also server as a table. I have a perfect peice of glass to cover it, and the sump will be in the basement. Who knows maybe someday it will be an awesome saltwater tank its gonna take me a bit to get everything looking nice on it. Being its going in my dining room of my new house it needs to look flawless or my old lady aint gonna be having it.

Anyone recognize this beast??

Gonna be ditching the wood stand idea and am going to build one with angle iron. That way you can actaully sit and eat off of it if you wanted. Anyone have any idea on how much angle iron runs? I have a friend who can weld it up no problem, i just dont know how much metal goes for these days.

Well I know that steel prices are way up so I'm sure it won't be cheap. Sounds like a cool idea though. Let me know if you need any help with it

Not sure on prices but if you need someone to weld it up, I'm a certified welder, and weld 10hrs a day, so I think I could handle a tank stand! :D

I think I would go with square tubing over angle Iron though. Much stronger with less flex.

If you need some help designing something for a stand hollar I could probalby give you a few ideas, if you give me some dimensions.

If you need any other help just hollar!

you know your going to want to make it a reef right?.........you'll start thinking about it.........and thinking......and then that little reef bug in your brain will kick in

You know there are saltwater rays! :D

Blue spot rays are pretty sweet looking. And from what I've seen in another tank you'd probably be alright with one in the tank!

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.......lemonade

Im gonna just do cheap fish for awhile to cycle it. Then freshwater rays. Maybe when i get the basement freed up the stingrays can go in my pond in the basement and this thing will be reef.
