I thought I'd just share this perfect picture of my 2 clowns. They are model citizens.

I have a smaller 4 head Branching hammer but my LFS has a softball sized goneopora for $45 so im gonna probably give that a try.

Careful with the goni, besides them being a very difficult coral to care for, clowns useing them as a host can irritate them to death.

I dont know what I was thinking because I've read that they will kill the goni's. I'm just wondering if that Regular hammer can be housed next to the branching hammer? They are genetically different but in the same family. Id rather them not destroy each other. I'm heading over to my LFS in an hour or so and ill pick one up they have some big boys, along with some RO/DI

Hammers and frogs can usually touch w/ no problem, torch's may be another story, gonis are tough to keep kinda already even w/out clowns bugging them, and don't even think about an elegance right now

ahhh good news then. I wonder if it would be beneficial for the smaller hammer to be next to a more established specimen.

Go with a Duncan, clowns are wierd though I've seen clowns host tons of random stuff

My pair in my 90 host the overflow box while the one in the 150host some blue mushrooms and my powerhead...

I've seen clowns host algae clips, gsp, Kenya trees, xenia, heaters, a piece of empty eggcrate for frags, the list goes on

Yeah, occs seem to be the slowest to accept an unnatural host, and their natural host nems are on the tougher to keep list, especially in newer tanks.
Nothing assures they will even accept any euphyllia or soft corals, but hopefully they do for OP

Perculas are no faster to jump in an unnatural host than they are. I've got 4 BTA's about 8" or so away from where the Clowns are "hosted" by the corner of my tank for about 8 months. :hammer:

It seems like they've taken a liking to the back right corner. Its perfectly right behind where you can't see them.
