The Perfect setup

So, I'm just starting to plan out my major project, a 120g display tank... I'm wondering what people's ideas are for the perfect setup of it...

Plennum, refugeeum, sump, live rock, live sand, protein skimmer, UV sterilizer, etc., for filtration/water quality, what's the best combination in your opinion?


What's the ideal lighting for the main tank, and a fuge if you listed that as part of the perfect setup?

What would you stock it with ideally?

What else would you do with it?

FIRST are you talking about a 48" or a 72" 120?

I personally prefer a 24" over an 18" tank...

The deeper the tank, the better IMO. Plus, you can fit 4 foot tank a lot more places than a 6 foot tank, too.

( I know this isn't an answer to your question but ) why do 220g come 29" tall? I would rathe rhave the depth then the height.

My wife just started her 180g dream tank. I will tell her to chime in here on your thread. :rollface:

envision tank, deltec skimmer, Schuran ca reactor, red dragon returns, tunze powerheads, lumerarc 3 Mh's, helios 250w 20k bulbs, zeovit, galaxy ballasts,..

It's going to be a 120 tall, 48" L x 24" W x 25" H

I totally agree on the depth, more depth is definately better... it's what aquarists and women have in common, we're constantly asking for just a few more inches, lol.

Sorry if that's offensive to anyone.
