The Quattron

Looking to get an HDTV for the Living Room, I already have a 46" Samsung, which I love, and will move it to the family room. (the family room is where I need the HDTV to watch the Sabres in High Def.) I was out over the weekend looking and found the Sharp Quattron LED/LCD. This four color technology sound good. It seems that only Sharp offers this presently. Just wondering if anyone has one or knows of someone that does, and how do they like it?

Stick with samsung IMO. I am about to upgrade my hd samsung to a 3d hd samsung very soon. Sharp i no nothing about, i do not really care for sony. Every one i have seen that is over 2 yrs old has some pixels out. My samsung is going on 5 yrs and still not a single burnt out pixel, and still a very bright crystal clear image. Make sure you watch some high speed stuff on it(fast paced action or sports like hockey). Not sure how big high speed blur is on newer tvs, but when i got my hd tv it was very noticeable on lots of the other lower brand tvs.

You wont go wrong with a samsung in any way, i know that.

Sometime they just like to throw cool sounding words on a box to make a product seem more advanced.

I would just google reviews on it. If the "4 color technology" sucked in a lot of other people and they are unhappy you will find it on google.

Check this link out for a interesting conversation about the Quattron. Lots of stuff I hadn't known.

Personally I like my Sony. 52" and close to three years old and not a bad pixel or problem with it. Sony and Samsung are the tops in the market. You can't go wrong with either. I still say LED is the way to go. It's too early for a 3D TV IMHO.

Thanks for the very interesting link, Twinpanther. When I went out looking, I was pretty much set on the Samsung 55" Led/Lcd. Just this Quattron made me think. Imo the 3D TV is just a fad. It's not new technology, just bringing it into the home. Wearing glasses to watch a 3D movie at the theater for a couple hours maybe once a year is fun, but nightly at home . .think it would get old fast.

After shopping around and reading a TON of reviews, I recently got a Samsung 55" (C6500). The picture is out of this world. IMO I would get a Samsung and get a C model (2010), not a B model (2009). You can connect it to the internet and stream things like netflix, blockbuster online pandora, etc.

Chris, that is the one I was set to get, just that 4 color technology set me back a moment. After reading the link from twinpanther, I am now back to my original decision, like you, the Samsung 55 C6500. I do like the LED technology. Thanks for your input Chris, and again thanks twinpanther, that link really helped me out.
