LOL my butt is to bare bone ...... I wont be posting anything about tangs again. I thought if they the police saw how small the tang was and note he was in a 6 inch x 6inch box a week BEFORE he got to my tank. Lets see 6inch by 6inch or 36 x 18 x 12.
Ever think that maybe a person with an APPROPRIATE tank would have bought the tang if you didnt???

Lets see some pics of the 125g you just bought. Must look nice sitting in your living room:D

Wow! Great advice from a seasoned vet:rolleyes:

Just food for thought....he will outgrow that 30g within ~4 months if fed properly and not stressed. So If I were you I would be getting the 125g running to get it stable in time.

Ever think that maybe a person with an APPROPRIATE tank would have bought the tang if you didnt??? It been there for a week started with four two died two were left so if your right the other would be bought right? Wrong you should know tangs are not normally found that size let alone bought..... The smaller the harder to take care of .......80 % chance it dies in the store!

Lets see some pics of the 125g you just bought. Must look nice sitting in your living room:D [/B][/QUOTE] Are you doubting me I only have a cell phone, but if you like I will take a photo of the tank after work...... Its used so I have to clean it up a bit but I 'll get a pic soon just for you.......Its in the garage but yes it is nice to look at I can image!!

PMartin727: I hope its not true that you won't post here again. I think this is a great site, of course there are people who want to show that they are better, have more money etc... the point of this site is to learn. OK, so you did something most of us wouldn't have done, even when you knew most of us wouldn't have done it, and why. I've never had a regal tang so can't help you, but I'm sure there are many people here that will help you, and are still helping you, so why would you not post here again? Anyway, by X-Mas time I think you will be able to post here saying that your tang is transferred to a new 125g tank (which will make the tang police happy), or it died, screwing with your water parameters, and everything died... (which will still make the tang police happy cause they were right), and you can share a valuable lesson with other newbies.

Not to worry I am just staying away from the tang subject!

What???? I can go to at least 4 different LFS here in Ft.Lauderdale and find multiple Blue Tangs well under 1 inch long any day of the week.

That is not rare or uncommon. After you learn a little about tangs, you may realize that.

he was not serious but how coulod you not see that?????

no, he was definitely serious that you should "do whatever you want" regardless of the effects on the fish or anything else.

Whatever makes YOU happy is all that matters, right?;)

GOOD ONE BURN!!!

Thats BS.....Maybe in florida they have tangs LESS than an inch.....
Less than an inch??? Ask the LFS if they are ever bought!

Look man we are now off the subject I am not here to argue
Good luck to you are your tanks!

YES I AM HAPPY which is why I am done....Sorry your not a happy person:mixed:

Less than an inch??? Yes, without doubt.

Right now, Big Als, Eco reef and Reef life have Blue tangs that are AT MOST 1 inch long. Thats just what i saw in the last week. Not remotely rare or uncommon to see them that size.

The only reason they usually aren't bought, is that people who know anything about tangs or fish for that matter, steer clear of them until they are a little bigger and healthy:cool:

Again whats your point??? You just like to stir stuff up huh? Again man good luck to you and you tanks.......lol this guy is amazing
:smokin: :smokin:

So, how big should a tank be to be able to "hold" a tang? Are all tangs the same (with respect to the size of tank requirement)?

I've read the whole thread and, as entertaining as it was, nobody provided the information needed for a newby to learn from.

No problem. Keep taking advise from kids with 1 month experience, have never owned a tang and think a scarface background is cool:lol:

Honestly you need at least 100G to "House" a tang "holding" is something different.

I 've talked to MANY people regarding this and those who know what they are talking about say its done all the time (LFS, before they are bought) and can be done BUT DON"T RECOMEND IT. I took my chances!!
