Here are the CAD's:

I want to do the Schiemer Stand. I want to use 12x8x16 solid cinder blocks. my question is, will these be enough to support the weight?

I'm thinking about doing two single wide walls in the middle on each side of the overflow with a 3' beam in the middle on each side.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I don't have an answer for you question however with that footprint your going to have a lot of options for aquascaping!

is this going directly on a slab floor? (like a basement or garage)

Yep basement with porcelain tile.

porcelain is very brittle..are you removing the tile under the footprint of the tank? if not, i surely would. i twould only take a few tiles to crack and your tank will be unlevel.

love the tank size though.

This tank is only 24" tall. I don't see why the concern, as long as he distributes the weight with enough legs he should be fine. My 3FT tall tank displaces more weight per square inch and I have no problems.

Well the skimmer changed already, here's a few things I got already:

2 Sequence Barracuda's
1 Sequence Dart
1 Bubble King 500 Internal
1 Aqua Controller III Pro

The BK will be here next week once I get that I will finalize the sump and order that then I will setup a large kiddie pool & get the rock going.

Get yourself an engineer for the stand.....the cost will be down in the noise when its all said and done. I think I understand your idea, and it would be pretty cool if i can be done!

Well I've been real busy as of late. Lots of plans in the works, here are some updates on the progress of the tank.

Why is Batman crucified???

Good eye..;)

Awesome setup Vamp1975! Can't wait to see it stocked.

is your stand cemented to the floor? also, what did you use to coat the cinder blocks, and what size i-beams are those? I'm interested in doing something similar for a 72"x48"x25".

There is thick roofing paper seperating the tile from the first layer of mortar so if we ever wanted to remove it. We used a cinder block sealer prior to painting the blocks. They are 4" H beams, each beam can support 8000 lbs. Hope this helps :)
