The start of my 300Gal starfire SPS tank

I am sorry to hear Brian, but I can definitely understand. Take care and I wish you the best of luck.

Man this sucks. I think a lot of us have been there. You work so hard to build something so bueatiful, and then with a few small problems, it all begins to unwind so quickly.
Good luck, this is truly a sad day.

Dang man.

I have trouble comprehending how you can go from the TOTM to selling off the tank. I am still just trying to get my tank to look good. I don't think I will ever get there.

Hope to see you back in the future. This truly is a sad ending to a beautiful tank.

Brian- Sorry to hear. I'm sure you will be back. Enjoy your break and we'llsee you soon.

Sorry to hear that - you've been a inspiration to us all... :( Enjoy your break and we will be waiting in RC for your return

what u get thread split, I still havent seen the tank in person, and it kicks a$$, and now u decide to shut down. u were supplying the local with nice frags:) too bad.......

Thanks for all the kind words...it was not an easy decision by any means.

But then tank is suffering and I would rather give the coral to someone who has time to take care of them. I started a new job about 5 months ago and it preoccupies all of my time and my tank has had three alk swings in the last 2 months b/c I wasn't on top of things.

All of this lead to my decision, when I come back it will be on a smaller scale as well. The cost of just operating this tank is very high, it will be nice to have a normal electric bill for a while :-)

Thanks again for everything and the nice comments!
-Brian

Wow Brian, I still can't believe it's really going to happen. I had hoped we could talk you out of it but I agree that you're making the right decision for the time being. Please feel free to call me and let me know if I can help you out with the breakdown or anything else. If Christina still has the itch maybe she'll want to help me aquascape my new tank.

All the best,

Mike

Seems all too often that this happens... my favorite tanks end their lives so soon. Invincable, Ed Reef and now you. Well, one of them returned quick - Ed Reef. I know there's a lot of dedication and hard work required for this type of system, but the rewards can be amazing. Hats off to you for the accomplishments thus far. If I know reefers, I know they'll always come back for more like a bad drug. Enjoy your short vacation and just keep positive... too much negative energy out there right now these days. :)

Brian I am very sad to hear this. I had heard you were having some problems but I had no idea it was driving you out of the hobby. Let me know if you need any help taking things apart or anything.

best wishes Brian,
