The tank is UP!

It took 6 months but the tank is officially up as of today. Unfortunately I lost 1/3 of my live rock to a broken container and the other 2/3rd suffered severe hypo-salinity for who knows how long, but the system is in full swing.

Hopefully I'll get the rock work how I like it tonight. I decided to go with less rock in the tank and put the rest in the sump so I'll have to find a new home for a refugium.

I'm a little nervous how the hypo-salinity affected the rock and DSB so I'm not sure how fast I'll get my fish back in. I have to give props to Mal (Reef and Tails) for keeping my fish for this long; unfortunately most of my coral went to other people and I hear didn't fare well. Also a big thanks to those that helped me move the tank out early spring....we managed to get it back in with only 2 people.

I'll get some pictures rolling when it doesn't look like a sand storm.

Its great to hear the tank is alive once more. You know that you have a lifetime pass for free frags at my place. So sorry for everything that was lost... :*(

So I go it all rocked out. I decided that since I wasn't 100% confident that my rock was at full capacity I'd start the tank off with some damsels to see what happens. So I got a nice little shoal of green chromis.

I'll wait a week or two before bringing home my old fish from Mal's.

It's about 240g...it's 8 feet long, and 2 feet wide and high viewable from 3 sides. Eventually I will cover floor to ceiling with panels so it will make a faux foyer for my living room. I was just about to build the floor panels (bought the special pvc "wood") when the thing broke so now I'm back to where I was 2 years ago. :(
