the tissue on my purple haze just came off

I was just using a powerhead to stir things up in my tank before a water change and noticed a small area of tissue just come off my purple haze. The coral is about 4" in diameter and an area about the size of a quarter came off right in the middle. I've had the coral for at least 6 months and haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary. It was actually growing really fast lately. All of the other sps corals in the tank are fine. (sunset montipora, strawberry patch montipora, tri-color, red planet, purple birdsnest, etc) Any idea why this happened? Will it grow back?

If it was only from the power head, it should be fine.....however it could have been already peeling and you just knocked it loose.....difficult to say from this side.

Yeah, it looked fine up until I hit it with the flow. I've been doing this each week since I got it without any problems. I'll keep an eye on it and run a few tests I guess. Thanks.
