24 x 22 x 26 tall Starphire I got it for the Discus tank but had Mike put in an overflow just in case, lol.

Going to be an interesting project, I dried my rock and its re-curing now. Going to try to control what critters get in this tank as much as possible. Starting with fake grass and will replace with real shoal grass as the substrate matures. The left side of the sump will be filled with high porisity rock and the water level will be inches from the top as Tank drain down is only about an inch. The right side will have a mud bed and be a mini algae scrubber with a LED Spotlight on it.

Hooked the chiller up to the Seahorse tank, it read 71.8, got my good ole Tropic Marin Calabration thermometer out to cal. Guess what, it was 71.8, my ReefKeeper temp control was off by 4 degrees. Very important to check your temp controlers once in awhile, been about ten years since I last checked Cal.

Now my second point, "Discus most be kept at temps above 80" This means one of my discus has been at 72 degrees for over a year the others that I got at about 1" to 1 1/2" grew up in it. The previus discus that bred and raised their young in that tank, were doing so at 76 degrees.

So it might be a good idea to check your temp calibration on your controlers periodicly.

Any "Sponcers" out there? I've got it all ready to go, running fresh water till I get the substrate and start cycling. I need someone availible 24 hours a day I can call if I get the urge to just throw the hores's in. I haven't waited for a tank to cycle in over 30 years, this is going to be tough, lol. Don't even remember what cycling a tank is.

Well, just got back from SEA, man they got it fixed up nice, had Dr "J" test my water, perfect cycle! I was a little surprized as I had been throwing a lot of stuff in there to get a good bacteria culture going. Trying some new stuff(fish aquaculture for raising fry) that has 3 strains and acts as a probiotic, tank looks like a fog cloud now and has for a week. I put 1/4 teaspoon in every morning, will stop now and let the water clear. Now I wait and think.

One of the Halamedia Brushes has a runner shooting up, started about noon, already a 1/4" above the sand. Glad this one did it first as it is unusual Brush, leaves instead of brissels. So far everything is showing growth or at least looking good and not detireorating. Still have bacteria bloom, pods are loving it.

If you look close you will find 3 off shoots

I've had this happen before, sometimes the mother plant will die off, sometimes not

3 other Halameda's are sprouting as of this morning, including the Mermaids Fan, which I only had one of and the top died off.

No full tank shots, its a secret set up. Actualy I amazed its working out so well, I've had problems before with Algaes fighting and there are alot of different types in this tank, all appear to be taking hold well.
