For the "old timers" this one has been around the block a few times:

My motto is: "Use what you got"

Those 1" DIY bulkheads on the sides have never leaked.... the 1-1/2" heavy duty (commercial) BH on the bottom IS leaking.

Upgrade on the way....;-)

I'm a bit of a novice skimmer DIY'er too and have to say that is by far the best skimmer I've seen. That takes the thinking 'What's in the DIY bucket including the bucket?' to a whole new level.

Does it deposit alot of scum on the funnel neck? What pump are your running with that Beast?

It pulls water throe the holes and sends it out throe the other holes.

hey steave .. i have heard both does you ozone gen still work or did it fail?
if it failed are you gonna rebuild it? ever consider just using a UV bulb??
i see a lot of sparks but not sure if its making as much ozone per watt that it could. looks like a plate insulating two pieces of metal and sparks allowed to go around the outside.
also im very intrested in that vertical pump any chance for more info on flow patterns and such? looks like it could solve alot of my flow issues...

btw i cant find the pict of that DONE but that was attempt one.. attempt two i added a TOP bulkhead.. it now works perfectly.. it draws its own water. and recycles the CO2 very well

media levels are checked via a diprod into the top bulkhead as this is a PITA to reseal ( its gotta be TIGHT)
