The_Rider - Zen Garden (~250g system)

Looks amazing, great job!

I would say plumb your return line whatever is easiest and looks the best.

Thank you stunreefer :)

I'm working on that but today I will finish my frag tank structure ... I'm also sick like hell :thumbdown but my goal for today is finish the structure so I can capped it this week :D

I also saw that you were selling your elos setup ?? Are you upgrading ?

Thanks
Alex B

Nope not selling my set-up, just the light ;)

I had to "downgrade" from a 183 gal AGE to an ELOS Mini as I received a promotion that has me traveling 50% of the time - there was no way for me to care for such a large tank. I'm selling the light as I've honestly only turned it on twice for a couple minutes... all my coral is non-photosynthetic so I only run a moonlight

I'll upgrade again in the future :beachbum:

Hope you feel better! I've been under the weather lately too...

Aaa fiou :) Happy to know that it's only the light :P

So today i did the structure for my frag tank. I only need to capped it. It would propably be like an Elos stand :P

This is my overflow for my frag tank

And finally an overall view of everything. The furniture on the bottom left corner will be remove so I will have a lot more place to install a comfy chair or something :) It's messy with all the plumbing but I had to take a picture :P

One of my favorite up and coming tanks! Are you going to run a couple MP40's or just the K4's?

You will love the Sunpower, I have the 24" over my small tank.

Keep it up!

Hi, slightly unrelated, but what 3D modelling program can I use to "design" my new tank. Would like to useone of the programs that others on the site have used.

Thanks DFason, Corry ! and Leonardo and lightsluvr for answering the question

DFason : I don't like Vortech, my uncle bought a M40w and they are having a lot of problem. He bought it used and the guys just replace the wet side on it, receipt as proof and I looked at it Brand new ... 1 month later one wet side broke down ... New wet side, now, it the controller that died ... Powersupply is powering on but not the controller. It's currently in my car's trunk waiting to be shipped one day lol

I also bought 2 Tunze 6055 and really LOVE the variable speed and my fish and coral too. My plan is to switch all my pump to variable tunze went I would have more money lol I will use the Koralia for now but I'm looking for used 6105 or 6205 locally.

Corry : I'm using Sketchup for the drawing and Hypershot for the rendering. If you have any problem or question about sketchup, I can try to help you :)

Hi guys,

Not any picture yet. Still working on my plumbing. It's taking a lot more time than my 110g. I only had one drain and one return :P But I'm getting there ... Should finish it next weekend :)

I had a question : I was trying to find a pair of first for my frag tank. At first, I wanted a pair of purple firefish but they are jumpers so I decide not to take the risk. Now I was looking for a pair of flameback. Do you think I can have a pair in my frag tank ? 30 gallons 24x24x12. They well be the only fish in the tank probably. What do you guys think ?

And here a picture I took of my prized CBB.

Thanks :)

By flameback do you mean, Centropyge acanthops?

If so, yes you could keep a pair in your frag tank, they're an awesome fish!

Gorgeous Copperband too

Thank you Austin

Yes i was talking about the centropyge acanthops :)

A minor set-back ... After a little thinking and planning. I realized my Mag18 would not be powerful enough to feed my skimmer+DT+frag tank so I trying to sell the Mag18 at the moment to buy a Marinetech 3200gph :smokin:

So has soon has I sell my mag18, you should have some picture of the plumbing. I already plumbed (? not sure if it's a word) all the drains and prepared my manifold, bought another ballvalve I'm sure I only have a couple hours left so water should go in soon :bounce2::bounce2:

I sold my MAG18, so I went to pick up my Marinetech 3200 GPH today

I could have run 2 pumps or more, but I didn't want to have a lot of pump in my sump for aesthetic reason... Yeah, I'm that hard headed lol

I also begin the plumbing of all my drains. I'll begin to work on returns pipes as soon has I finish my little RC hourly checkup lol

I only install one mack-up (!?!) valve since the other one is on my 110g. I used a pipe to hold the other drain in place for my planning. Everything is glued except the MIPT to the 1.5" valve. Also, I didn't remove the masking tape I used to aligned my 45 elbow

And here it's how it looks for now

Thanks

I continued to work on my plumbing :D Almost finish !

I had to stop, when i look at my watch it was 2h30 AM. I hope my neighbors won't be too mad that I used my saw all night long lol

I really like the industrial look of all the pipes. I wasn't sure if I want to cover my stand or not but now, I will keep it open for sure. At least for a little why until I want a new look :P

What do you think of the "industrial" look, would you leave it open ?

Thanks
Alex B

I like it, I also use dark-grey PVC because I like the look. I should leave it open, you can always make a change later. I would close the stand of the frag tank though :)
You've done a great job, everything looks very clean. Can't wait what the future will bring! :)
