Thermoforming flex PVC

I remember reading on here long ago that there was a way to thermo-form that spa-flex PVC tubing. You could take the curl out of it so it was straight, or you could add bends and stuff so that it matched your setup needs.

Does anyone know more about this - ie: how to do it? Do you just use a lighter to heat it up, or a propane torch, or what? How long does it take to heat up, etc.

well, I tried a hairdryer, and that didn't get nearly hot enough. Then, I tried a MAPP gas torch, set on a low flame. Still nothing.

Finally, I used the torch with a decent sized flame, and in some spots even singed the PVC - I could smell it - and parts turned slightly yellow/brown, yet it still retains its curl.

I'm starting to think this is just some myth or something...
