Summer is comming and Im making a bigger effort to get my tank perameters more stable and temp is a big deal. I have a temp reading on my chiller but I want another reading from the system incase the chiller gets out of calibration. What thermometers are you guys using. I tried those big digital display battery operated ones with the probe and air temp that the lfs sell and that didnt last at all. the all died. and im not a big fan of the pinpoint set ups. has anyone come up with a good product that I can keep in my system that will stay accurate and will be robust enough not to crash after some humidity. thanks in advance for the input.

The digital ones do suck. The only luck I have had is with a Neptune Controller. I replaced the probe once in about 5 years. You can get a basic Neptune Jr for about $120 with temp monitor and controller features. Pricey, but totally worth it. If you can afford, I wopuld get the DC8 with it in a package. Should be around $200. You will pay $180 just for the DC 8 if you buy it separate.

The Digital Aquatics and other controllers on teh market are probably good too.
