if it were me i'd separate that rock and any other the coral is growing on from the others and begin curing/cycling a new piece of rock in a pail with a heater, pump and weekly doses of lanthanum chloride.
in about 6 weeks you should be able to move the new "pestless" rock into your system and remove the infested one.
Pulling the rock isn't going to take care of the issue, I've let it continue for to long to have that as an option. I'm thinking maybe introducing a filefish or some type of butterfly would be a good option.
I have several pep shrimp in the tank but I've never seen them near these. I looked into nudi's but I think my wrasse would demolish them.
They look like majanos, which I'm not sure if peppermints eat. I don't know much about the fish options but they're worth looking into. Seems like manual removal might take forever...
