Has anyone heard back from this gentlemen? I paid him for some items last wednesday and he was supposed to ship but I have yet to receive the items or hear any type of response from him (email, PM, or anything). Does anyone know how I can get in touch with him?
 
Yeah, what's going on??? I bought an ac300 from him, and it's been almost 2 weeks since he said he shipped it, but no ac300. He's not replying to pms either...
 
if you paypaled him then yoursafe just open a dispute and say you never recieved it. thats why i love paypal. i did that with ebay. and they gave me my money back bcause it was never shipped
 
A couple of us now have opened up disputes with PayPal. This guy is a clown. I'm wondering what it will take to get him banned from RC as well.
 
Claim is filed. Let's just get someone to go down to his house and talk to him, he's sold stuff locally before.
 
He's a member of ORCA it looks like. I know there's other ORCA members who must know who he is.

Maybe something happened to him?
 
Just FYI, the only posts from him in the last year have been for sale posts. There was a one and a half year period where he did not post anything on RC and then came back to sell his stuff. I do not know him and given the distance between his posting and his selling the stuff, I would assume he is not an ORCA member(or by title only). That is the biggest problem with our forum on RC: you can be anybody and noone would know. The only way to know for sure if he is an ORCA member would be to ask him. Even then, he can go to our site, find a name, and call himself that. This would occur with much less frequency over on our forum site at http://www.o-r-c-a.com/modules.php?name=Forums

If we start using this, we can weed out all of the "problem" people. Here we have no control. Ask the mods to boot him if you guys think that's the best solution. We cannot do anything about it over here. Try our website where we have the control.
 
What give you the impression that he is a member of ORCA, Goldstripe? Did he state that or were you told this by a member of ORCA? Noone knows. I could say my name is Bob and I've been a member of ORCA for 27 years(theoretically, if the club had been around for that long) and noone would be the wiser(unless you know me personally and know the club well enough to know I am only 25 and the club is only a few years old). Sounds pretty distinct, 27 years in ORCA and 42 years in the hobby. Too bad I'm not Bob and have only been in the hobby for 2 years. Pretty good reputation I made up off the top of my head, huh? He may live in Mexico for all we really know.
 
I wasn't saying that he was member for sure, just that it looked like that because he posted in this forum. I figured someone else in this forum may know him, that's all.

Anyhow, I hope everyone that bought something from him gets their situation resolved. There was a post in the main for sale forum to stay away from him. That is what led me in here.
 
No problem. Just wanted to know if you knew something we didn't. That's the problem with public forums with no verification process; anybody can be anybody. I just wanted to clear up that this guy in no way represents or reflects ORCA. He is most likely not even a member. He hadn't been on for a year and a half before March came around and every post since then has been items for sale. Probably won't find many people that know him.

I hope you don't think I was trying to be rude. I hope everyone follows up bad deals like this. There is no room for people who come to this forum for the sole intention of ripping people off. Your comments are very justified and deliberate, just one thing was misleading from assumption: the words he's a member of ORCA, it looks like. I just was trying to clear the air that this person definitely does not have strong affiliation with ORCA, is most likely not even a member of ORCA, and that we do not support his actions. It is a common misconception that because someone is posting in our club forum that he is a member or represents us. This anonymous public forum is just that: a forum. Bob can be Ted(or Jane, for gender neutrality), a 50 year old PhD marine biologist could be a 12 year old middle schooler, and a seemingly good person can be a thief (not calling anyone any of these things, just using an example).

I wish I could help more, but unfortunately my hands are tied. Maybe RC mods (or network admin) could help pinpoint this person for you. If they keep good logs, they can probably find his IP address, you can link that to a base network, who can then link to a subscriber account. May need legal action before they will give you the info, may not. I'm not really sure, just giving you another outlet to get your money returned. If you payed with credit card through PayPal, you can always put a stop payment on that and let their legal team work it out.
 
I don't understand why people do that. EIther give him his stuff or give the money back. The hobby is expensive enough to have thieves amongst us as well. How irritating. Come on Redstar, step up to bat and make this right!
