Things To Do in Pittsburgh

Perrytowne Aquarium, Wilkinsburg Aquarium, and Under The Sea are all gone and I was told months ago that Petland Monroeville was dropping aquatic livestock.

Hi guys...Under the Sea in Cranberry is closed. We did a road trip to Vermillion, Ohio(towards Cleveland) to Salty Critter and had a wonderful time. We were pleased with the selection and the prices. The staff is wonderful and very helpful. When Scott gets back from Colorado, we plan on going back up. It was definately worth the trip! Sorry we cant make it to the meeting but I cant get to Elmers without Scott....you know us women drivers...lol
Hope to see you all soon tho!

They have some stuff but they just down sized, I'm not to sure what they still have.

Petland in Robinson has reef stuff and so does the place next to Buffalo Wild Wings in Robinson. I don't remember it's name, I stumbled in by accident but they had decent prices as well.

Hi guys
Does anyone have any recommendations for LFS's that are relatively easy to reach by bus? :fish2:

I'd like to know as well, especially for fish. I already know of petland and aquaworld and as well as the typical chain stores

It is possible to reach Elmer's by bus. I would take the 67 to get there from CMU; not sure which school you're at. Apparently (I've not done this) the 14 will take you to Aquaworld from downtown. You can use Google Maps to find bus routes. (Use "Get directions" and then click on the tab that looks like a train, for "public transportation".)

All that said, you're better off borrowing / renting / stealing (j/k!) a car to make the trip. Each of these bus trips would be 1+ hours, and the cold of winter will be really bad for any fish that you buy. I've made the trip to Elmer's once and it took an hour and a half to get home. Now I either get a Zipcar or save up a bunch of errands and rent a car from Enterprise for an entire weekend. Typically I'll wait until the weekend of the PMASI meeting, pick up a car from Enterprise on Saturday (they have locations everywhere, and they'll pick you up even if there's not one nearby), get groceries, go to the meeting, and then go to a fish store on Sunday.

Maybe I'll get my roommates parents to take me somewhere lol.
Which stores are the best? The other posts are kinda old.
