Thingy on acro

Can somebody help me ID these two things on a maricultured acro that I acquired last week? I don't think the thing in the first two pictures is red bugs since it is the only one that I have seen. I am guessing that the thing in the last two is a macro algae of some sort starting to grow on the coral.

Thing 1 possible redbug. I see multiple what look like redbugs elsewhere. Research Interceptor or Bayer Insect Killer.

Thing 2 some weird vegetation which doesn't belong on your coral. Remove it. I'd probably just clip the branch behind it.

I'm starting to think it is some sort of hydra. Don't these usually die off on their own due to a lack of food source?

Here is a better picture of one. I am starting to see a lot of these on the acro.

I have a bunch of these hydra looking organisms on one frag. Anyone aware of them harming the coral?

I have read/heard they can sting and irritate coral. I had some come in as hitchhikers on a snail and have now taken up residence on my rock.
They actually look identical to the ones in your picture. I have been squirting vinegar on the little colonies of them since I'm dosing the vinegar any way. It seems to kill a few here and there but definately not effective for removing them entirely.

Yeah, I have heard that they can irritate the coral but my acro seems fine at the moment.

How long have you had them?

I've probably had them for around 6 months, the tank they are in has only been set up for 8-9 months now. I figured they will go away eventually. I started with dry rock, and they were able to get a foot hold pretty early with no competition for food or space from anything. Out of curisosity I did rub the back of my hand on a colony to see if they could sting me, as there plenty of reports out there about them having a nasty sting. I was unable to feel any form of tingle/sting. I have not noticed them taking up residence on any of my sps, but if they start I may have to take their extermination a little more seriously.
