Think crocea getting stung by anemone

I have a crocea clam and an anemone in my tank. They are just close enough for the end of one tentacle to touch the edge of the clams mantle when it's fully open. Tonight I noticed there may be a little bit of tissue recession on the clam.

So my question:

Can I safely move the clam? It's been in a crevace for about 8 months, so I assume it has attached. I don't want to risk damaging the clam, but I would like to move him if there's not a big risk.

I'd try moving the anemone first- or moving the rocks on which your animals have attached-

Do you think the clam would move it was really being bothered? I just noticed that I used 2 small rocks to prop it up a while back. I can remove those 2 rocks now and it'll give the clam a little room to move on it's own if it's being bothered.

ime, a crocea won't move once it finds a place to attach- but if you really need to, you can take a razor and very gently/carefully cut as close to the rock as possible, cutting the byssal threads (not the fleshier byssal gland, whatever you do!) and move the clam. They really hate it, though- good luck-

I didn't realize how tight a clam could grip the rocks. I didn't have easy access to it's byssal threads, so I carefully rotated the clam 90 degrees. I think that'll be enough to keep it clear of the anemone. We'll see what happens tomorrow when it opens back up.

Will the mantle regenerate? (I think only about 1mm of the end of the mantle got damaged)

Well, looks like the anemone is still touching the clam. I'm going to have ot move it. I'm going to find an exacto knife with a special/small blade and very carefully cut the threads right at the rock. We'll see what happens...

The clam expelled a big white chunk with the byssal threads attached a few days ago. It fell off the rockwork a few times after I moved it. I found a more secure place for it and it's now been fine about the past 4-5 days. Everything still looks good.
