=( tried giving it a better home than the LFS but his little mouth is gaping and hes deflated.. yesterday his mouth was tight as a whistle.. today is not looking so hot. should i wait for him to die or just pick em out?

A picture would be worth a thousand words at this point.

Sometimes nems look horrible when they're releasing waste.

How long have you had the nem? Sometimes they do water exchanges to acclimate to the new tank.

Something else of note though, your experience says you added water on Feb. 7, if this is the case, it is way too early to be adding an anemone, they are just too sensitive to add when a tank is so new, they need established tanks, and most aren't established in the same month they're set up.

Good luck!

My anemone was deflated for a couple of days. Salinity had dropped for some reason and PH was low also. I took care of these problems and once again we are very happy. L

Zestay, I have a few Q's for you. First, has your tank finished it's cycle? Second, on your lights do you mean T8 normal output?

Next, I will apologize in advance for being harsh. You obviously did no research before you bought that anemone or you would know you gave it a death sentence by putting it in a new tank.

Anemones are very hard to care for and have thrive. They need a very mature tank, 8 months or older; water params need to be near perfect for them to thrive; they need very intense lighting to survive. Looking at your siq, experience and equipment, you can't offer it any of the things it needs. You will be doing it a favor by returning it to the LFS for credit or trade.

If I have missed something here, sorry. But, please do the right thing.

no no they are t5 normal out puts ( putting the order in for the metal halides as we speak. ) went to the LFS to take a look around. came back and the nem looks much better. just must have been pooping... so will the hermits and snails eat its poop or do i need to manually remove that?

yes they are normal out put t5s. http://store.seacorals.net/36aq42wt5dol.html

is this where i say the guy at the LFS store said i could...

kidding.

ive done more reading than i have staring into my tank =P

seriously i didnt expect him to live the day i purchased him.( the lfs didnt expect him to live either ) but i could tell that he wasnt going to live in the LFS and looked so bad no one would purchase him. kinda sitting in the bottem of a tank being eattin by a maroon clown 4 times the size of him. yes my tank has finished cycling all levels are 0.0 skimmer produces a nice cup of brown crap on a daily basis..

i DO however understand your concern for the nem and why its there. some people have to learn the hard way. and some people have to say i broke the rules and nothing bad happened.. which one am i? well see!!!

ill take a pic tonight of him all i have is a cell phone camera so its not going to be a good one.
