I would glue it to a rock, doesn't need to be large, but i'd shape it first so it sits nice..
If it's on a plug, pop it off and glue it with some super glue gel.
You can get it from the dollar store, 2 tubes for a buck.
I remove most of my frags from the plug and put them on rocks.
Some i'm worried i'd break, so I leave them.

How deep is your tank? I originally had an orbit marine on my tank and my xenias melted away also. I have a torch that lost a head and was about to loose the other one when I changed my lights to 3 AI 26HDs. I don't think orbit marines are strong enough for deeper tanks. Mine was 24 inches deep and couldn't keep any corals alive, now they're starting to grow.

mine is also 24 inches deep. The added fluval light has done a really good job so far and visibly doubles the amount of light in the tank. I havent checked Par values but it seems to be a massive difference. The Florida Rics have almost doubled in size in only a month with it and they are at the very bottom of the tank.

Also this is the same light that was over the Xenia in the LFS and they are it a good 24" above the 6" deep frag tank there.
 
My duncan is right at the top under a rapidLED aurora puck at 65% intensity. I start every coral on the sand and they stay there for at least 2 weeks, then move them around and up until I find a spot where they are happy.

Haha I hear ya! It s a bummer but in glad that changing your lights has helped that much. I had the same thoughts as you that the marine orbit just wasn't enough. I'm hoping that this fluval will be as big of an improvement in the long run as it has been already.

So I finally got a calcium test. My calcium is a little high. About 500-520. I ordered two duncan heads today and they will arrive on friday. I do not dose anything in my tank but will that high of calcium be OK for Duncans?
 
i have the marine orbit for a year now, have frogspawn, hammer, torch, duncan, fox coral, monti, anything you can thing off and the low light sps such as birdsnest with the usa marine orbit, everything is growing like crazy, am sure is taking a little longer than usual, but nothing had die (not from lighting anyhow) had a pulsating xenia doing good, but decided to taking it out due to them been knowing for taking over the entire tank, be happy that you lost it lol

Wow, that's awesome. That is the same as mine. Everything seemed to be doing alright under that light for me but now with the new light it all seems to be thriving much better. I also have stepped up my husbandry duties though so that might be a factor.
 
I've found my torch coral to be a stellar grower and adapts to any place I move it in the tank. If they're hard to keep I must be doing something right.
