I currently have a Lawnmower Blenny in my 75 gallon tank, but he seems to have given up on my hair algae. I used to have him and a yellow tang and never saw any hair in my DT, only my sump, but when the tang started going psycho on my other fish, I got rid of him. I recently upgraded from a 150W MH w/ Dual 23 watt PC to a 120W 55 LED light w/ 28 Blue 450nm and 27 14000K. I needed to replace all my lights and decided to spend a little more and get an LED fixture instead. Now, the algae seems out of control. I am working on trying to lower my phosphates just in case that is the issue. The question is: Is there another algae blenny I can add with the lawnmower or do I just need to adjust the lighting times or intensity? I have a hammer, a frogspawn, mushrooms, a couple of zoas/palys/button polyps, a lether finger, and some GSP. All my corals are doing great(Hammer split, frogspawn started putting out baby polyps, leather is growing, and GSP is spreading). It is odd timing, but after I changed lighting, my green chromis died, then my yasha haza shrimp goby disappeared, then my yellow-eyed kole tang disappeared, followed by the disappearance of my pistol shrimp and an explosion of baby feather dusters(which I think means my nutrients are too high). Do I need to try a large water change? When people say nutrients, they are referring to what, phosphates and nitrates...? I don't have a test kit for phosphates. I skim about 3 cups of dark green a week, I just started running a phosphate reactor 2 days ago, I have a refugium in my sump with LR, DSB, and cheato(which has not hardly grown at all in the year I have had it). I am fairly new and inexperienced at this whole saltwater thing. Please help. And if you're going to tell me I'm a retard for asking, don't bother responding. Retards don't ask, they just do things. I am trying to avoid making a mistake, but the hair algae is out of control. :headwalls:
