Thinking about converting my tank to Seahorse tank

Ok, I have 30G Oceanic Tank. I want to keep seahorse pair, I don't want dwarf since they don't eat prepared food.

This is what I have in my tank,

1 Tomato Clown (need to move out from tank)
1 4 inches BTA (need to move out from tank)
1 3 inches long Blood Shrimp (can I keep him? I am not sure)
1 emeral crab (I wish I can take him out but I am not sure where he is)

1 Clam (I think I need to take him out too but I am not sure)
1 Open Brain Coral (I heard this is no no so he will be out)

I think there are safe,
I have tons of Anthelia, yellow polyps, few zoos, micromussa (I don't know how to spell) and Kenya Tree.

Is mushroom ok?

Equipments,
I have 1/10 hp chiller (I got it few weeks ago and I love it)
Currently I have CPR style HOB refugium but I am going to put overflow box and have sump in the bottom. (Overflow should come in today)
I have 150W MH sunpod fixture but I think I can definately downgrade this light unlike can I keep SPS in seahorse tank?

Please let me know what I can keep and what I need to sell. And what kind of seahorses can I keep?

Sorry Savager but not true. Seahorses need a tank free of fast moving fish that will devour their food. I keep a Mandarin in my that but that's it. Either ditch the clown or forgo the ponies.

The blood red shrimp should be okay with larger seahorse species, but they can/will attack fry.

The yellow polyps, zoas, and kenya tree are okay ... not sure about the anthelia or micromussa.

Mushrooms are fine, but I heard the fuzzy mushrooms can't be trusted.

Emerald crabs pose some risk ... some specimins are more ornry than others. Personally, I don't trust anything with hands or teeth in with my horses.

A 30 gallon can handle all but the largest and smallest of species. With a chiller, you could even go with a temperate water species like H. Breviceps (SeahorseSource has these) ... really cool horse.

Good luck

Thanks.
I searched on H. Breviceps species and it said I need to keep my temprature around 65 to 69. I think I can do that but is this going to kill my corals? BTW, can I keep my Clam? If I can keep clam, I need to use my 150W MH light.

thanks.

Clams are generally considered bad. Its not that they intentionally do any harm, but close up quickly when touched. More than one seahorses has gotten caught in a closing clam as they poked in it or dragged their tails across it. Usually you then have to choose between the life of your seahorse or clam. And even then, the cases I've heard of usually result in damage to the rescued seahorse because of the force of the clam closing.

Well, I guess I have to sell my clam as well. If that's the case, I can sell my MH light and get cheap PC light to replace. Less electricity bill for me and my wife will love it, LOL. It's a win win situation.

That's about the right temp range for breviceps. Not sure which corals will tolerate that temp for an extended period. I have a gorg in with my H. Capensis at 68F. It wasn't happy at first but now seems to be doing fine, 3 months later.

A seahorse will hitch to anything. When they swim, they often stop by extending their tail and grabbing anything handy ... a rock, a coral, another seahorse, etc.

If you want to add color to you horse tank, check out some of the more colorful macros.
