Thinking about getting a clam...help please.

What clam is the most forgiving to start and are 4*36 watt pc's enough to make them happy in a 29 Biocube?

Honestly, I don't think that's enough light to sustain a clam.

I'm sure others will chime in. But I waited and didn't put one in my 14g BC. I've now got MH's on another tank and am now comfortable to add a clam.

I don't think you could keep a clam in there either with that lighting, definately not a crocea or maxima gigas would be to big squammy probably to big as well and even then the lighting probably isn't enough, that only leaves a derasa and I don't think they would be to peachy keen with just pc lighting.

T5s and MH are really your best options. PCs just don't put out enough PAR.

I have to agree with everyone else. I've got 3 clams under T5 doing great. I'd love to put one in my 46 tank but it's only got 2X96 watt PCs. Not enough lighting.

Which clam cones from the deepest part of the reef....Deresa or gigas?

i believe the derasa is found at a slightly greater depth but both grow to large for your tank. ( 2' - 4' )
