Thinking of adding a pipefish

I have a seahorse tank I have had for about a year and a half that is doing great. There was a pipefish in the local petstore but when I asked to see it eat, it wouldn't, they couldn't tell me if it was tank raised or not. I feel bad for it seeing as how it is probably wild caught and has a poor chance for survival. I would like advice from someone that has pipefish with seahorses, Where is the best place to order them from. Do they need anything different than seahorses?

Pipefish sold at a LFS would be wild caught, not tank raised. As you know, that would then make it just as risky as adding WC seahorses into the tank....so only you can decide if the possible consequences are worth it.

If it were me, and my tank was running successfully for over a year, I wouldn't take any risks with the tank. Perhaps, if you really like pipefish, you could set up another tank to enjoy them.

I agree with Tom on this one. As of now there is no known supplier of CB pipefish in the US, and a tank running succesfully is not something to risk.
