Thinking of breaking off the center brace on my tank.

Hey. I am currently in a dilema. My light fixtures (outer orbit) have a total of 6 moon lights lined up 2 in per row about 1 1/2 feet apart. Two of these lights are right over the center brace. (Which blocks off all light)

I am thinking of cutting off the center brace and replace it with something sturdy. I have heard of people replacing it with a glass brace and even with aluminum braces.

Has anyone done this or something similar?

You could use acrilic, its clear and should do the job, maybe look in the DIY section for some how-tos.
