Talk me out of it or give me tips on how you have gotten yours to eat once brought home.

I've gotten two, both were heathy at the store and eating... They both died. One of my favorite fish too so it's unfortunate but I won't get another most likely.

Are Powder Blues harder to keep than Browns? I don't think I've heard that before..... This has been on my fish list for a long time. I guess it should probably stay on the list just like Powder Blue Tangs, Dwarf Lions, and the Bella Goby.

Although I didn't see him eat at the lfs I took a shot with the first one. The second day in the qt he got a bacterial infection and passed the following day. With the second one I made sure he was eating at the lfs and started a round of antibiotics from day one in the qt. While in the qt I started to feed him what I feed my fish hoping he would start eating the same. Unfortunately he wouldn't touch anything. I remembered reading about live blackworms and how they can induce a feeding response from finicky eaters so I gave them a shot and it worked, he took to them right away. For most of the time that's all he ate in the qt with the occasional mysis.
In March it will be two years the CBB has been in my tank. He's fat and healthy and is not afraid to mix it up with the other fish during feeding, not timid at all and eats everything now.
I get them from my lfs but lately they have been having trouble getting them from the suppliers. I've used both suppliers online for the Black worms.

I've been getting them from Pets Warehouse in Carle Place.
That's okay I didn't realize that this was the SLASH thread lol. If you do get some Black Worms keep them in a container that enables you to rinse them easily like the one they sell at aquaticfoods.com. They start to die real quick when the water gets fouled.Just realized you aren't local to us lol. Back to the internet it is :hmm4:
No worries, I'm really happy, and I really appreciate your help, to have someone that has experience other than reading threads from 10 years ago lol. That's okay I didn't realize that this was the SLASH thread lol. I keep a quart jug of RODI water in the fridge and rinse them before feeding the fish. I rinse them every day but wouldn't go more than a day or two of not rinsing. I buy enough to last me 2 months and rinsing them keeps them alive for the whole time.
Do you happen to have any contact info by chance? There is a guy at MASI meetings that sells them locally.
I buy an 1/8 and that's enough to last 2 months. Never looked into another method for the worms like the 10g because the keeper is fine for me. If your SO has a problem with the worms being stored in the fridge, the tank method could be another option. No worries, I'm really happy, and I really appreciate your help, to have someone that has experience other than reading threads from 10 years ago lol.
How much lasts you that long? The guy on eBay is selling 50ml for 40$ or 30 for 30.
I've read people using like a 10g aquarium and not having to rinse as often, have you had any experience with using that method?
Sorry if I'm hijacking your thread Lance lol...
