2 x 250w 6500k Iwasaki MH 13 inches over the water line
4 x 110 VHO super actinic 5-7 inches over the water line
12.5w per gallon.
Was on a 10 hour MH photoperiod down to 8 now.
75 gallon, standard 48" long 24" tall
SPS dominant tank

I think I have too much light. I get good coral growth, decent polyp extension and ok coloration. I would like better coloration and better polyp extension.

1) Is this indeed too much light?
2) Are 10k bulbs a good choice?
3) Should I keep all four VHO if I go with 10k?

Any advice is appreciated!

I have 10Ushios with VHO actinics and I think the color is tough to beat. I've tried 20K's in the past ans switched back to my current set up. IMO is the nicest color plus with the VHO's you can simulate dawn/dusk photoperiods.
