This a good CUC for a 36 gallon?

I would keep the 5 Nassarius Snails. They eat food and not algae, so you don't have to worry about them starving. I feel like the job they do in your sand bed really should start right away.

Oh wait, I see you have crushed coral, not sand. Not sure about Nassarius and crushed coral.
.

For a 36 gallon tank I think you would be better off going with 5 Banded Trochus snails and a couple Scarlet Hermit crabs. Use something like a Mag-Float to keep the glass clean and either stir up or vacuum your sand bed on occasion. Assuming you are using a decent water source, if everything goes right all this nuisance algae your seeing will be replaced by coralline algae anyways. Now your stuck with a bunch of invertebrates that will have to be fed at some point. (if they survive that long) If your willing to do the work a little elbow grease can go a long way sometimes.

If you just want to add a bunch of pets to your tank as opposed to janitors though, then by all means knock your self out.

This is a good point. I did not catch the fact that you didn't have sand. I feel like they would have a tough time getting through that crushed coral...

Yeah. I want to do both kind of. I want to add things that look okay and still provide a purpose. I have no problems with husbandry of the tank! It is actually why I sort of like this. It gives me something to do in my downtime (Stay at home soon to be father) It's only been 11 days and already I know this is something I am going to treat like my child the small amount of life I see in there already excites me and all I want to do is make sure it thrives.

I have read a lot of Branded Torchus' breeding So this may narrow down my list. I think you are correct. 5 or so torchus and some Scarlet crabs should do the job and I like the looks! and then if and when the torchus breed I will figure that out when I come across it. I found this guy today Brittle Star fish hitch-hiker on my LR. So this may change my list.

I am pretty sure I am through my cycle already it was a small one but I think it has passed. Still keeping an eye on my numbers though.

My next question would be anything known to eat Vermetid Snails? I have about 6-7 in my tank some really small and some pretty darn big? Or any other method that does not involve removing the rock?

I will say that a pair of skunk cleaner shrimp will be more fun to watch than a pair of peppermints. Peppermints are more nocturnal in my experience.

And you can feed them literally anything and they will stuff it into their mouths like lunatics.

Yeah they are my favourite too!

True, my skunk cleaner is a pretty funny dude. At times, he does clean fish with their permission, but its funny to watch him creep up on them and freak them out when they don't see him coming. He also cleans my arm whenever its in the tank. Also, a huge pig for any food.
