This Can't Be Good Right?

more than likely, the anemone is dying and the clown is consuming some of the necrotic tissue inside.

it wont be long before that anemone is a limp, gaping and lifeless mound.

 Mine do that too! They've done that since I've gotten mine. Same kind of anemone. Mostly the female, she grabs a mouth full of the strings (digestive filaments?), and chews it, almost to thumb her nose at me, or rips the piece of food out. Keeping mine fed has been a challenge, between the fish and the anemone crab, my nem would starve to death if I didn't help (protect) it to eat. I have a tank full of thieves.

If my clowns ever did that to my lta they would become my ltas next meal. My lta have been known to be a bad host in the past. It ate my pink skunk. So, I was hoping your clown made it out alive.

That anemone looks to be in pretty weak shape and I don't think having the clowns in it is helping. Is it staying in flated?

I just came back from the gym and snapped these shots. This is ~2 hours after the lights are out.
So far, I'm very optimistic about this. Usually, when I get a wild caught anemone, it deflated and looked really bad shortly after the lights are out. But this one seem to be holding up real well. I can't ask for a better looking tentacle during the night than this.
I got the anemone late yesterday so this is the second night and I haven't seen any deflation yet. I even took a long lunch today and came back home to check it out.
I know it's very early to be excited about but I'm very optimistic with what I'm seeing so far.

Gigantea by the looks of thing but starange not to have the verrucae showing prominantly, if it has not completely deflated and the foot is attached and it has not moved then you could well be on to a winner.

Really hopes it works out for you, My Baby gigantea is now a month in my tank, I feed it almost daily with mostly rinsed mysis, a drop od aminoacids from zeovit and a bit of my grated homemade fish food (like rods food). I only feed a small squirt equivalent to the solid mass of a small mysis cube. It consumes it within 5 minutes. I advocate feedings with fine food particle not large chunks for these anemones based on accounts from seasoned gigantea keepers such as delphinius and rod or gary

good luck,
