that's dyed. a $60 anemone dyed with $5 of coloring. so basically someone just threw $385 out the window.

I fell for one of these many years ago. I was told it was a natural color when I bought it, but it faded and eventually reverted to it's more natural brown color. It lived for over 10 years until it was killed accidentally by a house sitter while cleaning. I think you dodged a bullet!

this was for sale at a very very reputable store...i was wondering how much went for....i hope it keeps it colour for the buyer, and hope it splits like crazy too...i am not saying it isnt dyed or bleached out a bit, but this store has never sold me any dyed or bleached corals...so if it was i will pretty much guarantee the store had nothing to do with nor any knowledge of it..and they have been around long enough to know if someone had tampered with the animal..the rest of the corals in that shipment were absolutely ridiculously beautiful too...

Endlessblue, you a local to TO?

I'm local to TO. I spent ~400 on two anemones from a very reputable store. Both were dyed. One dyed soon after being placed in my tank - I had several other anemones, so this was a surprise, but apparently dying stresses them. The 'rainbow' bta turned brown and lived less than a year. If you want, send me a pm - but trust be. You are the lucky one, not the person who got that bubble tip.

i would be a little suspect of the lfs that you think is reputable. they should know something is "off" don't you think?
