Clams look bad. They had been doing well for oh about 7 years. Did water change yesterday 60 gal also changed carbon and phosguard...now my large clams are all retracting!!!!! My smaller tear drop 3" looks fine and my smallest clam 1.5" looks fine.
My sps are all fine.
Only other thing I did was add peppermint shrimp to clean aiptasia last Friday.
Water chemistry is fine.
Any ideas?

Peppermint shrimp won't hurt clams, but they are curious creatures always looking for food. Are they bothering the clams that are retracting? Or did you perhaps change brands of salt? If the chemistry is still good they should return to normal soon.

Thanks for the input. Later today they are open...but I will watch them. As far as too much too fast...kind of my usual stuff, 60 gal on a system that has 320 gal of water should not be too much. I am wondering about the phosguard change. But I think your point is well taken so next time I will do the change of the media on a different day.
Will update later

The phosguard is a good possiblility. Clams are sensitive to levels of iron in the phosphate media. Run lots of carbon. Check your tds too.
