probably in the wrong forum also...but Im looking for suggestions.

Im not sure how to set up my tank up. I have 50 gal tank, I will need to get stand for it, should I go for a bigger stand in case later on I decide to go for a bigger tank?
Another thing, I dont really like the whole conopy look. Is that a nessesary thing? What other options can I have for the top of my aquarium? Thanks in advance

Man, the beauty of this hobby is that you can do anything you want to do as far as hardware goes...just make sure your water quality is close to the way mother nature intended it to be.

stand must fit the tank.............50 is small, and if you are thinking of biggrt....id keep the 50 for a sump and save up for the tank you want.........hood is for the lights, so you can use pendents or hang a light or use one with legs....or even get a basic light to set on top of the glass.
i would get a good book first and then have a better idea of what you want.

after you have gained some knowledge and insight only then should you make some decisions. At least you will be able to make informed decisions.

Thanks guys. I obviously cant make decisions on my own... only when it comes to buying shoes, thats probably why I have so many of them, hah.
