Thorite

I used that product in building several of my rock stacks. Overall, I was pretty happy with it. I found this stuff worked well for securing rocks into position, but if you're going to lift up the entire structure by a rock or two at the top of the stack , then you'll need to reinforce the entire structure. You may run into this issue when placing the structure into your tank.

I linked a couple of posts from my build below that detailed my endeavor.

Thorite isn't a rod.. it's the compound they are using to "glue/anchor" the rock together.

If I misunderstood your question I apologize :)

I ordered the rod through Grainger and picked it up at the local will-call desk. If you use fiberglass rod, make sure you wear gloves while handling it after it has been cut. I've read a lot of tank builds where folks use acrylic rods too, so that's another option.

No, I don't have recent pics. I'm long overdue for an update, but the tank is still FOWLR.
