You should not need to dose again, it stays in the system until it is removed via UV light and/or Carbon. for the water changes add CP to the replacement water in the correct dose. The amazon stuff works fine, it's what I use.

-watch for an ammonia spike if you still have that live rock in there.. I keep ammonia binder handy when I use CP for that reason. (it kills all algae in the system, and most inverts, causing a spike).. if you remove dthe rocks and just have pvc or plastic hiding spots you should be fine.

I'd get started with the ich shield powder right away.. As mishri said it is CP and is the same stuff. Make sure you take out your carbon before dosing. Also make sure you aren't running intense lights. Skimming while dosing CP seems to be debated.

Well what I thought was my meds from amazon was in fact my order from Dr Foster & Smith for the Herbtana and Proprazi. Which neither of them I will be using. Looks like it will be tomorrow for the CP.

Just did the dosing of CP. Did a 15g water change, and fed them, everyone seemed to be eating. Hopefully everything goes well through the night.

Its been about 24hrs, everything seems great. I do have one concern and that is the right side of my puffers nose/face. Its very odd looking. Yesterday I noticed it was almost black, and now its white, like something happened and the skin died off and now its trying to grow back?? Everything is eating and appears to be happy.

On a side note can I run my skimmer on a QT tank that has the CP in it?

Here are some pics of him

Just want to double check the order of operations here. Did you do a 15 gallon water change and then do the CP? Or did you dose the CP and then change 15 gallons?

It's hard to tell what's going on with the puffer from the pic since it's not very clear. Is it raised and cauliflower like? Or is it more of discoloration? I'd keep a close eye on it... it almost looks like a secondary infection.

15g change added CP. His nose was black and discolored before CP. It was almost like the cupermine did it or he was stuck on the live rock i had in there and injured it. After dosing CP it looks white now like dead skin had come off and its trying to heal. Its not raised at all. My ammonia was high yesterday so i did a 20g and redosed the 20g with CP.

Since you're running into ammonia issues I would highly recommend also dosing something like Prime or Amquel to reduce toxicity.

So I did some reading on the forum for ammonia spikes and came across a guy who basically did what I did with a QT and immediately had high ammonia. No clue where it was coming from, bare bottom tank, pvc, blah blah, he said he took his wave maker form his display and put it in the tank. Well so did I and it had a ton of junk in and on it. I can only think that all of the algae and anything else in it died from the cupermine and now CP and that is just constantly shooting ammonia in my tank. I took it out last night and cleaned it as best as I could with a toothbrush. I will put some ammo lock in tonight when I get home and probably do another 10-15g water change.

What do you have for filtration? In my QT tanks I use Canister or Hang on the back filters with sponges/media.. I think you were the one that had a HOB filter right? how big is it and how much media do you have in it for bacteria to collect on? Since the tank was uncycled it's going to be a lot of work keeping Ammonia at safe levels.. probably a week daily water changes, cut back a bit on feeding if you haven't already.. (still feed, just smaller portions)

tough to tell what that is in the pic. It could just be physical damage where it ran into something.. it could be an infection (bacterial or fungal) or could be uronema marinum - if it's that then the CP will fix him up and the change could be the CP killing it(usually the wounds are reddish, but I've seen some white)

so.. if that spot looks fuzzy or bumpy like something is growing or swelling/redness appears you might want to try something different or repost some new pics. if it's fuzzy or bumpy it could be an infection and there are some anti-bacterials/anti-fungals you can try. if it changes take new pics and post..

I have a HOB filter with some of the blue/white filter media. I have been doing a minimum of 10g water changes every day. Today will be adding some ammo-lock to help detox the tank. I will also do another 10g change today before adding detox.
