Thoughts of selling - entire 180 setup

Okay - here is the situation. I am halfway thinking about selling my entire setup and start over in a few years. I am getting ready to do some renovating to my house and it will be very difficult to keep "moving" my tank - plus the money from the sell will help out in the renovations. Here is what I have:

• 180g Perfecto Dual Corner Overflow Tank (72"x24"x24" with glass tops)
• Marineland "Prestige Series" stand and canopy (black)
• Approx. 150lbs live rock - mix of Fiji and Marshall Island
• Approx. 125-150 lbs of sand
• All Glass Aquarium Mega Flow Model 4 Sump - dual drain intake
• QuietOne 5000 main return pump
• Octopus Protein Skimmer
• PhosBan Reactor (with pump)
• 4 - Hydor Evo 1400's (in tank)
• 3 - 250w Double Ended HQI Metal Halides (with 3 - ARO ballasts running each bulb) w/ Pheonix 14K bulbs
• 4 - 54w T5HO (2 - 10K / 2 - Actinics)
• Reefkeeper Lite Plus (model 3) with 2 PC4 modules, Ph Probe, iTemp probe
• Coralife Turbo Twist UV sterilizer
• Heater
• Fish: Blue Hippo, Powder Brown, Foxface, Clownfish, Lemonpeel Angel, Coral Beauty, blue damsel
• Assortment of inverts (crabs, snails, etc.)
• Corals: large frogspawn, several shrooms,
• Plus misc. test kits, additives (calcium, etc.)

What I am trying to figure out is if there would be any interest on this MTRC forum in getting the entire setup - not interested in piecing out separately. Over 4K invested in setup - not sure what I would take for the setup?

Any feedback?

It's hard selling entire setups. Parting out is more of a pain but typically works out in your favor (more $$).

Scott,

Like Zach said, it is VERY hard to sell an entire setup these days. heck it took me Forever to sell just a tank and stand and the guy came all the way from Peoria! Best of luck to you should you decide to do so. I actually spent today reminiscing about my old 75 and how much I actually miss it now. I know one day ill have what it was again, but it is just hard now to rebuilt. Personally, i would say deal with it during the renovations (make in in wall as an excuse) vs selling it.

that said, if you do sell it, Parting it out is usually the easiest way to unload it, but a large tank is hard to sell vs something closer to a 75. Best of luck to you if you do that. Im sure the "vultures" around here will scoop most of it up! LOL

Mr Bertoni, I know you are doing your moderator job, but I dont think he is actually selling it here, just exploring the options and asking for our opinion if he should do so.

thanks,

Isn't that the idea? To get an idea if someone wants something as a whole or part out, and then to sell? Seems like common sense, IMO.

If you waited til spring... I might buy the whole setup... I was looking at a 300g though so I have to think about it....
