Thoughts on a carpet?

Hey, I've had a 29g biocube set up for a year now. Its got hqi lighting,( 150 watt sunpod ) and a 14k Pheonix bulb. I don't have anything in it besides LR, LS, and a pair of clownfish. I plan to get two Koralia 3 pumps to replace the flow I've got going on now.

I've kept a GBTA in it for 6 months and it has done great. I sold it a couple days ago and am interested in getting either a green or blue haddoni carpet because I've heard they are the least difficult of the carpet nems.

What are your guys opinions/experiences?

Thanks:thumbsup:

I know they grow fast, but I've heard that limiting feedings can stunt the growth.

The 29 is about 22" from the back left corner to front right corner. With LR and the way a carpet bunches up, I figured it would be able to stay in there for awhile if I get one around 8-10 inches..?

Yes, limiting its feeding will slow down the growth, but IMO, a bio-cube wouldn't work long term. They will still grow, and they still produce a decent amount of waste.

Plus, blue Haddonis are difficult to come by, so trying to find one that is 8-10 inches would be difficult.

Now, if you had another tank that you could move it into when it gets too big that would a different story.

I'm not completely set on a blue one or the size. I'd really like a green haddoni with a nice striping pattern, but I'm not sure how hard those are to come by.

I see that you've got a lot of experience with carpets.. where do you order yours?

2 of mine came from an LFS
2 of mine came from the Diver's Den section of LA
1 of mine came from a local reefer.

The one I got from a local reefer is a striped green one. I think I have seen 5 other ones over the years.
