Thoughts on adding a Mandarin Dragonet during fallow period

I'm about half way through a fallow period in my DT due to an Ich outbreak. My livestock is split between two hospital tanks and they look great. They're due to go back to my DT in early February.

However, before I put them back in I'm considering adding a Mandarin Dragonet a couple weeks early. Due to their resistance to Ich I'm thinking it would be a good time to introduce one so he can get comfortable in the tank and not have to compete for food.

Do you think this would be ok to do?

no. certainly not. why risk your fallow period?

they're not immune.

Fallow means fallow. I'd wait it out. Why go through all the work of going fallow and treating your fish only to jeopardize it?

I've read that mandarins are very resistant to ich but why risk having to go through another horribly boring fallow period again. I know it's tough to wait but why risk chancing it

Yes, mandarins are resistant to ich , but certainly not immune. I'd just wait it out and see what happens after the fallow period. If the mandarin has to compete for food , why add it at all ? If it has to compete for it , it'll die of starvation ..

I agree with the others.

Out of curiosity you say to get comfortable and not have to compete for food. Of the fish that you have in QT is their a competitor for pods? If so the mandy will most likely lose every time. Just my 2 cents worth.
