Thoughts on chiller config

I've just picked up a new chiller, an Aqualogic 1/2hp, and plan to place it remotely from the tank, due to noise/heat. manufacturer's specs say this thing runs 9amp, so I'm kind of stuck on how to control it.
My second EB8 runs a 400w MH with a couple of other smaller things, so lets say 4amp. Running the chiller off that, especially with a 20ft extension cord, sounds like a blown fuse at least.
The chiller came with a single stage controller, but it just goes inline with the power feed. My one option, I suppose, is extend the temp probe from that controller and not use it on the apex. Or, maybe an EB4 with a long cable to the chiller room? That's a $120 option, so not my first choice.
anyone have any other ideas on how to install this remotely and preferably run it off the Apex?

Not exactly sure what that is, but looks like I run the chiller remotely on a different circuit, and run a line from the Apex to the contactor, which acts like a light switch, sorta? Am I close? :)

If you get a 12 gauge extension cord made for window AC units (check HD, they should have) or DIY something, 20' is not that far. I would connect it to outlet 4 or 8 which is rated for 10A (Neptune has built in a safety factor on top of that) and give it a try. It's cheap enough to do. If that doesn't work (just temporarily route the extension cord) over a few days then you can always go the more complex route. And 9 amps sounds like an awful lot for 1/2 horsepower anyway.

That's what I thought. But they claim 1092 watts and 9.5A. To me, a 1/2 hp should be 372W and a bit over 3A.
But regardless, I can try it as you mentioned, but if it's really 9.5, plus the lamp at about 3.4, that might be pushing the limits.

You can always get one of the 4 outlet HD modules (EB4 or DC4HD) that have higher amperage ratings. Of course, you're still limited by your household circuit. But like you say, try it and see. It's the cost of an extension cord (just make sure it's 12 gauge wire).

1092 watts would be 9.1 amps but that would equate to more like 1.5 hp. So something's wrong in there someplace.

Ya, a EB4 on a long cable would be perfect, but that's the more expensive option. Might be a gooder option though :)

I guess I don't understand chillers, maybe there is more draw than just the motor??
