Thoughts on Diablo DC pumps

As requested.

It is a solid back

Lets see if it shows up now. You were missing a bracket.

And just like that were moving water! I am amazed at how quiet this pump is. I took the penductors off as they were not as effective as they would have been with a pressure pump. For now I am running the two 3/4" loc line ports wide open. Tomorrow I'll pick up a set of 1/2" reducers.

I am also going to try to do all of the electrical cable routing tomorrow with the hopes of having the salt water delivered next week.

I am in LOVE! Family came over for dinner today and everyone is shocked how quiet it is. I truly could not be happier.

Just curious are external pumps noisier than internal pumps? I always read about people trying to find quieter pumps. I have never used an external pump but my internal pumps (Mag 12 now) have all been VERY quite. Hell my fan is the only noticeable noise I ever hear with my setup and that is only when everything is off in the house.

Some are very loud, others less. This pump though is the quietest, internal or external, I have ever used. The benefit of external is less heat transfer to the water. The risk is more susceptible to a leak. It's about picking your poison. Lol

That's another thing I have never had an issue with. All my tanks have always run at a constant 77-78. The same temp we keep the AC set at even when I was running 4 powerheads along with my internal return pump, internal Skimmer pump and internal reactor pump.

Trying to revive an old thread because I just got a couple of RO Diablo 10500s and I am a bit worried because these are used and don't have the red cover plate or the bottom plate. Any updates on the performance and longevity of this pump? Thank you in advance.
