Thoughts on Dwarf Angel in Aquapod

I just got my aquapod this weekend. Next weekend I'm going to be adding about 20# of (what I'm told is premium) live rock. I'm going to the LFS who has it - actually driving about 200 miles, so I hope it's worth it. With that being said - I'm eventually going to break down my 9 gallon and add the 2 (very small percs) that I have in there to the 24 (once it cycles - if it cycles). Along with that I was thinking of a six line wrasse and possibly a dwarf angel (ie: flame). Any thoughts on this - 24 too small? Maybe at some point I'd like to add a goby as well. I think 5 fish at max - some may say that 5 is too many - what are your thoughts?

I have a Maroon clown, Sixline Wrasse, and a Yellow Clown Goby in my 20g and they all love it!!! I think that the angel might be a little big for the 24, but it might be alright while it is young if you plan on upgrading in the future, just my 2 cents.

I have a 24 gallon nanocube (similar to the aquapod, just better )
I also had a Flame in there for a month. The day I added him I regretted it. He was bigger than my other fish (Assesor, Firefish, Yellow Watchman Goby, Pseudochromis) and all of the fish acted freaked out with him in there. I could count the number of times I could see my YWG on 1 hand during that month and mine is always out in the open.

Also, like mentioned above, is swimming space. There is just flat out not enough space for it. I felt bad to have such an active fish in such a little space.

Mine died after a month, just as I was making plans to get him out of there. He ate well but might not have been getting enough nutrition that bigger tanks can offer.

I do have a cherub angel in there now, he's doing o.k.

i just had to tear down all of my rocks and corals to get my coral beauty out of my 37g because it was too cramped in there. i think it would be ok as a small juvie, but as an adult you'd definitely want to upgrade. they need room to free swim when they aren't hiding amidst the rocks and corals.

and besides if ur going to keep a reef tank then i would not put the flame angel in there because it will start nipping at all ur coral and if u get 1 a clam

No, they may OR may not nip--hit or miss, if you want to risk it.

you are in Cleveland and are going to drive 200 miles for rock ???? give me a break you are 40 miles from both Salty Critter in Vermillion and Aquatic Technology in Columbia Station both of which have some of the finest rock you will find any where and Salty Critter is a Sponsor on here

I have a very small, one eyed pygmy angel in my AP 24. Does just fine. Wouldn't recommend it for most tho. I also have another tank I can put him in if necessary.

Yes and I've given both Salty Critter and Aquatic Technology business. More so to Salty Critter and plan on doing so in the future. However - in pictures it looks as if the rock on Phishy's site is a bit superior to the rock that I've seen (currently) at Salty Critter or Aquatic Tech. There is also a coral farm down in Columbus that we plan on visiting while there. If the rock at Phishy isn't superior to Salty than I won't buy it and will return to Cleveland and buy from Salty - nuff said!

I have a Brazilian Flameback pygmy angel in a 20H with two Oscellaris, aside from the odd scrap, they all respect one another and are doing swimmingly. I do think a coral beauty or flame would become too big though.

You should be fine with an African flameback angel, a Brazillian flameback angel, or a cherub in that size tank.
