thoughts on LA BBTA

buy it and see how it looks in your tank, it looks pretty cool in that picture. 14 day gaurentee sounds good too.

From what I've read, the color changes once in the aquarium. This isn't personal experience, just what I've read of others that bought the blue ones from there.

Never heard of a "blue" bta... could it bee what they are feeding it? surely it is not died! not fro foster & smith! Looks cool, like to have one for my tank. good luck what ever you decide!

Their pics tend to look a little more blue than the animal really is because of their 400 watt 20K bulbs.

I would careful with liveaquaria..in my tank, what was sold as

looks like

And this is just brown.

All under 14K.

I, personally, would stop just short of guaranteeing you that is a green bubble tip under blue light. I don't think blue is a natural coloe for them and their description list it as a blue/green color.

I think you would be better off getting a green bubble tip locally, if that is what you want. At least you can see the actual speciman.

lancer - that sucks...both look great in the pics. at leastyour nem looks healthy though

Yep, it is very healthy, so I'm happy about that.

And I shouldn't single out liveaquaria...I don't think I've ever purchased anything from any online vendor that looked as colorful in my tanks.

I dont really want a green bta. I want something different in color. I ordered a rbta that was shipped without hot packs in the wintertime so when it got to me the water was 66* and looked aweful.

LA is a good company to deal with but I was a little po'd about that. I havent seen one as nice since then.

Their Live Aquaria Photos are under 20K's...You Have to keep that in mind, 14k will look nothing like a 20k Pic...

Therefore, you shouldn't blame Live Aquaria, they even say corals will look different under different Lighting and Tank Conditions, they give the bulb name brand type and spectrum...

Strangely enough, my LFS almost all use 20K lights too, and when I buy corals from them, they look pretty similar under 14K lights. It's not just the lights.
