Nice looking tank. Its a tough call as unfortunately, reef equipment seems to depreciate like a used car. Typically, most items seem to sell for around 60% or less of their original value.

what exactly are you selling? tank lights and return pump with nothing else? or everything set up? makes a big diff.

Thanks for your help....My husband put this together & now he's leaving. And I have no clue as to a price...

But need to get everything moving so I can quick sale the house. Tank is still up and running. I've went threw everything else and found prices. Just can't find one for the tank.

$4.00 a pound for life rock sound good?

Angie

I was going to sell the tank, stand& canopy w/ built in lights above. The sump, & return pumps. After parting out the rest first.

sounds good (parting out) but live rock maybe $1/lb to $3/lb if it is really nice (lots of purple/pink and no pests, glass nemes, algaes etc).

if you want to move it quick and all of it... best to accept taking a big hit on price, most people will buy things they don't need if price is good, but it is hard to sell quick and get a "fair" price for it. but there is always someone out there looking so best of luck!

Sorry to hear it. It looks like a nice set up. Was the tank custom? If so, the manufacturer would also help. Some higher end manufacturers command higher prices in the both new/used markets.

Honestly, if you are trying to sell it quick, $4 is a bit much for 2nd hand LR. I have seen rock linger at $3/lb. To encourage moving it, I would offer price breaks, in essence, the more you buy the cheaper per pound.

which is really backwards, because if someone will buy it from a store for 6/lb you can get MUCH more life from an established tank for half the price... so odd, but I myself have never paid more than $1/lb for someones old rock.. heh. go figure. :c)

here is my opinion on som elivestock prices, tangs 20-30, clowns 10-15, pj, damsel, chromis free, stars 5-10

you also have live sand... but mebe whoever takes the tank can just take that.

rock again 1-3$

g4 $200-250

the 6100 have been replaced, so you may need to sell them a bit cheaper than otherwise. (new model 6101).

ps - I am not in the market for anything you are selling ;c). best of luck, ill leave you be to price everything how you want!

Sounds like a nice group of hardware. I could see that fetching around $2,000-$3,000 if you are willing to hang on to it until you get your asking prices. Usually, if you want things to sell you can look up their new retail prices and then ask about 50% of that. If you are looking to get out of it quick you could set prices at about 1/3 of retail and they tend to move.
$1500 really quick could be worth more than $3,000 over several months to some people at certain "needy" times.

I would love to get into something like a 210g Starphire and get rid of all my 75g and 90g tanks.

Let us know if you come up with starting point prices. There is some quality hardware in that list. The GEO stuff almost always brings top dollar (more than 50% retail)

By the way, if you are left with anything that doesn't move the club is always willing to accept tax-deductible charitable donations. We can use live items as well as equipment. Over the last couple months we have raffled lots of fish, invertebrates and corals that were donated by a local resident tearing down a tank.

Good luck!

Hope that helps,
-- Kevin

Do you have any large pieces of rock in the 30lb+ size? If so, I would like to stop by and take a look at what you have. I work in Mansfield so It would be any trouble to swing by.
