Three firefish togeather

What are the chances 3 firefish gobies can live togeather? I was going to get one but let the lfs talk me into 3. In the qt they are stickin right togeather but not sure what will happen when added to the dt.

Yes they can live together. Just make sure you have a tight hood on your tank. These lil F'ers can jump out of the tank through the smallest hole you can think of.

Not a good idea, firefish are mean to eachother, and in the long run you will end up with only one, if you are luck and a mated pr forms then you can keep two and they should get along, the problem is do you want to lose others to try. Start off with one or if you can buy them as a pr that is the best way to get them. There is a pair on LA in the divers den section.

Hmm, I see people with groups of these all over the net. Mabey they have huge tanks.

Some people get lucky. A lot of them end up with a dead fish, but it's not as much fun to post those pics.

Not exactly the opinions I was hoping for, but pretty much what I expected. They still have about 3 weeks in qt. Would like to hear more opinions or actual experience people have had with these. Then I will deceide whether to take a chance or send one or two back to the lfs.

Well with multiple "large" tanks, I can assure you that firefish do not like each other. If you are lucky enough to accidentally or intentionally get a mated pair, you will end up with two. If not, you will end up with one.

I made the mistake of listening to my LFS and also got three. I figured everyone must have been wrong because for the first two months they were always close together. They even shared the same space under a rock.
Over the past month it's become a rarity to see even two out at the same time. I get a rare view of all three occasionally, so I know they are all still alive, but it's obvious that they don't want to be together anymore. Whether or not they have started quarreling and this will end in "murder", I don't know, but their behavior really makes me believe that their peaceful existence may be coming to an end.

adnantz, I tried two added at the same time in my 210. The more dominant would seek out the other and harrassed it to its death. Absolutely no fun and try as I might I could not rescue the fish from the tank.

Thanks for all the replies. I think I will return two of them for credit. So far everyone in my tank gets along (even my hermits) and I would like to keep it that way.
