Thunder storms

Just sitting here and listening to a bad thunderstorm outside and was wondering what should be done to the apex controller in the case of a lightining storm where the power may go out and back on several times all at once? The system is on a UPS and line conditioner but those aren't fool proof. Normally if I'm home I shutdown and unplug all my computers, routers and other sensative devices but was wondering about the apex and what would happen if I unplugged it and kept it off during the storm? Would this be needed or cause a problem?

Treat it like you would any other $500+ piece of electronics. If you've got it on a UPS then you're in pretty good shape. Not foolproof like you point out but what is? Personally, I have mine on a UPS but I don't try to unplug it every time there's a storm. Too much risk in my opinion of doing unintended harm.
